This anime belongs to Sci-Fi genre. The story focus on a boy named Kei Kusanagi who suffers a rare disease, he can get into a comatose for a long time and unpredictable situation. Kei named it as a "Standstill". This comatose happen whenever he is under an emotional distress.
When Kei was 15 years old, he had a standstill for 3 years. It's caused after he watch the suicide of his elder sister. After recovering, he decided to moved away from home and began to live with his uncle, who has a profession as a medical doctor, and aunt. Kei doesn't want his new friends know about this situation. One day, there a Galactic Federation Starship landed in Lake Kizake. From the starship, come a beautiful half-human alien named Kazami Mizuho. She was sent to observe planet Earth. She is undercover as a teacher in Kei's school and Kei's neighbor.
When Kei helps her moving in, Kei suddenly get into standstill. Several accidental activation of Mizuho's teleport technology placed Kei and Mizuho in an awkward situation in front of his aunt and his school headmaster. So, to protect Mizuho from charges, he states that they're married.
