Sidonia no Kishi means Knight of Sidonia is the story about resistance human to Gauna. The Gauna is the the monster with tentacle and can shooting fire from their energy. It's been a thousand years since the first Gauna, strange alien attack the solar system and human. Earth as been the human living are destroyed by Gauna. The others human who are still live is make a "seed ships" and drifting through space. One of the seed ship is like Sidonia.

Nagate Tanikaze is the young man who are living in underground in the seed ship Sidonia. Because of hungry make him to going outside from their live for find out any foods. In the underground, Nagate always practice using gardes vr simulator who are made it by his father. When he try to going outside, he is getting hit by a train and the persons who are found him are bring him to hospital. When the leadership of Sidonia know about it, she want Nagate to pilloting the legendary Gardes "Tsugumori". The people who know about it immediately protesting with decision of leadership, but the leadership is have a reason for doing that. Can Nagate Tanikaze save humanity from Gauna?
