Saiunkoku Monogatari or usually known as Colorcloud Palace is a story about a world of eight provinces or houses, each named different color. The story in this anime focus on Hong Shurei, a descendant of a noble family that has fallen on hard times. And also Shi Ryuuki, the new emperor who has known as the ignorant emperor who didn't care and uninterested in courtly matters. Hong Shurei accepts an invitation to be an Emperor's concubine in order to turn him into a good emperor. And the mysterious Seiran, a young man who was adopted by her father, goes with her as Ryuuki's bodyguard. Entering the imperial palace revives Shurei's dreams of being a court official, she want to take a post in the government by taking the imperial examinations, but it is forbidden for a women to have a position in the government. Together with the many companions she meets a long way, to continues moving bravely trying to fend off the Emperor's advances.

Actually, this anime belongs to Fantasy genre. I love this anime so much because it contains drama and romance. Just go straight to the point. I think this is a good anime to watch if you want to get a lesson about struggle, pursue your dreams, reach your dreams. From this anime, we can also learn about women's independence. Shurei who always struggle for her family life, she never give up in her dreams, even it was forbidden by the rule for a woman to take place in a government, but she always do her best to pursue her dreams. There're so many problems come to her life, she alway belief that something good is about to happen. And finaly, she came out with her dreams in her hands.
